Miscellaneous Rules and Rulings

There's always little bits and pieces that need clarification...

- Kindred are immune to their own mental Disciplines. This includes Presence, Dominate and Dementation.

- Kindred cannot become blood-bound to themselves.

- Kindred are generally unaware of the exact mechanics of Disciplines. Younger ones generally do not know for sure about clan Disciplines [though would be able to make a good guess], though all but the most ignorant would be aware of some clans having a signature/favoured one [say Nosferatu - Obfuscate, Ventrue - Dominate, Gangrel - Protean etc.] Unless it's a Discipline the Kindred is familiar with [such as an in-clan] they may be able to say put the growing of claws down to Protean, but wouldn't know it was Protean 2, or that it was called 'Claws of the Beast'. Lastly, some Kindred who were educated in unlife informally or self-taught may be unaware of the correct names of individual Disciplines - even of their own [particularly if they are harder to objectively measure and define, such as Presence or Dominate].

Lastly, I do not feel Kindred would even know/use the term 'Discipline' - it's a good one for us OOC. Same goes for 'Blood Point' etc. If you've got any question[s] about how much your PC would know or how they would put it IC, ask in your Q&C's.

- Unless you possess the background 'Library' with the correct speciality, PC's are unable to do any research at home whatsoever. Obviously, this does not stop them visiting other places which does have a Library. However, this does not include general works of reference.

This is defined as; dictionaries / thesauri / phrase books of common languages, basic encyclopaedias, city / regional maps [Ordnance Survey], atlases, railway timetables [Bradshaws'], almanacs, biographical dictionaries [Who's Who / Debrett's / Burke's Peerage] or newspapers [local and national] which have just been published.

- Multiple Specialities do not stack. However, Merit/Disciplines + Specialties do.
